Porzingis returns with 20 points but Celtics' defense stifles Mavs' bigs

The Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to three games on Tuesday night with a convincing 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 28 points, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points.

Kristaps Porzingis, who returned from a calf injury to make his season debut for the Mavericks, scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting.

The Celtics' defense held the Mavericks to just 39.8% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers.

The Celtics' bench also played a key role in the victory, outscoring the Mavericks' bench 43-26.

With the win, the Celtics improve to 19-14 on the season, while the Mavericks fall to 16-17.
